Overcoming the Struggles of Faith During the Pandemic

Now more than ever, we must keep our faith strong during this COVID-19 time. With the despair, loneliness, and anxiousness that comes with self-isolating or learning about the news, we should turn to God and listen to His word so that you can find strength in his presence. So you might be wondering, “how can I strengthen my faith during these difficult times?”

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings, you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”

Psalms 91:4

With Christian communities forced to cease all gatherings due to safety purposes, some of us may not have the motivation to maintain our spiritual habits. On the other hand, others might be struggling with the overwhelming negativity in their lives that they are unable to see the light of God for themselves. But with much perseverance in wanting to keep a relationship with God, our Father, you can overcome your spiritual struggles and maintain this spiritual momentum that allows you to fully rely on God and His plan for you.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

Relying on God’s plan means knowing what it is through the power of prayer and other means that help in nourishing your soul. With this, we give you some suggestions on spiritual habits you can incorporate into your quarantine routine, so you can maintain your foundation in faith:

Set aside time to pray and meditate God’s word

Whether baptist religion you prefer to do during the day or night time, you should give some time to God and thank him for another day and for all the blessings you give him. Reading His Word and meditating, listening to His voice, allows you to let His presence guide your prayer life. Although it’s great that you talk to God about your problems and the worries you have about the pandemic, you should also have time to listen to what He has to say in a moment of silence.

Listen to online preachings by your community about God’s Word

What’s great about the Internet is that now you can get full access to God’s teachings easily from your community’s website or even social media page. You can also learn more about God’s love through other Christian leaders who are a great example of God’s love. Even if you cannot do activities with your community in your place of worship or wherever you prefer to gather, Internet lectures and talks about faith are a great way to learn about other people’s stories and thoughts about faith.

Have an online prayer meeting with your friends

What’s great about today’s technological advancement is that it’s easier for us to connect with other people through chat or video call. Now, instead of meeting up for bible studies and other prayerful activities with your community, you can do so through video call, whether it’s through Zoom or Skype. Reach out to other during these challenging times and offer a prayer to friends who are struggling with their faith because of the pandemic.

These are just some of the things we suggest you do, so you can maintain a relationship with God through these difficult times.

Currently, Calvary Road Baptist Church, a community that practice baptist religion in Virginia, is unable to open its doors for activities and gatherings because of the pandemic. However, we provide livestreams of Sunday worships and other prayer activities for all our brothers and sister in faith. You can check out our Facebook page for updates and news about our online church activities.
